The Kyveli Institute is in cooperation with various local, national and international institutions for the development of common activities and programme design. It actively participates at “HERMOUPOLIA”, a cultural festival organised by the Hermoupolis’ Cultural Centre and is in constant cooperation with the historic “Apollo” Municipal Theatre, which is a preferential location for events and exhibitions related to the Institute’s collections. The Kyveli Institute also cooperates with the Hellenic Maritime Museum for the organisation of various events and educative programmes thus contributing to the promotion of local history. These programmes and events centre on the island of Syros as a naval and commercial hub, which, as an urban centre of considerable importance at the time, was the epicentre of the sea routes taken by the various theatre troupes of Greece towards the Greeks of the Diaspora. In addition, the Institute works with the Photography Circle towards improving its Library of Photographs as well as in the organisation of seminars and exhibitions relating to modern Greek theatre.

The Kyveli Institute is also actively involved in the development of joint actions at the international level. The Pirandello National Centre for Theatre Studies, with its branch for Southeastern Europe, Cyprus and Turkey and the "Floating Theatre", are prime examples of this effort. In addition, the Kyveli Institute cooperates with the Balkans’ Music Forum in setting up a Cultural Biennale of Southeastern Europe. Working under the aegis of the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it aims to promote culture and art as a means of good neighbourly relations and economic development in the region.

The Kyveli Institute also cooperates closely with various institutions in research and the documentation of the collections and archived material. Examples include the Hellenic Literary and Historical Archive, the Georgios Papandreou and Andreas G. Papandreou Foundations and the Centre for Neo-Hellenic Studies and the Benaki Museum. The Kyveli Institute also cooperates with the Centre for the Study and Research of Hellenic Theatre – Theatre Museum in joint national and international initiatives such as the organisation of specialised theatrological conferences. Finally, there is close cooperation with the Aegean University and its Department of Product & Systems Design Engineering in both the management of the valuable cultural data in the archives and in the promotion of the Panorama of the 20th Century.
